    Hi Bart,

Thank you for your post. I'm here to help.

There have been a few users who have experienced this and reached out to us on support@maxcutsoftware.com

    Why this issue is occurring:

Our latest update included a new Code Signing Certificate (a digital certificate that verifies the authenticity of the software). Your antivirus is detecting the update as different from the previous version and mistakenly flagging it as malware. This can happen when software updates introduce new certificates that the antivirus doesn’t recognize.

    How to fix it:

To resolve this, you will need to add MaxCut as an exception in your antivirus settings:

For instructions on how to do this, you can do a Google search for something like “add an exception [antivirus name]”.

Alternatively, you can let me know what antivirus you are using and I will send you the instructions.

I assure you that this is the same trusted version of MaxCut you’ve been using, with some fixes and updates to features. As more users download and install this version, it will also help to resolve this so that it is trusted by your antivirus in future.

Please try this and let me know if there's anything further I can do to help.
