Including a 'price per cubic metre' option
AnsweredFrom Ashton Menezes #14450
I primarily use Maxcut Business Edition to determine my dimensioned lumber requirements, costs and to generate cut lists for my staff who manufacture large industrial crating.
In my area we generally use Price/m3 or Price/m. We do not often use Price/square meter. Even the plywood sheets we purchase from the mills work on a cubic basis.
Just some additional information:
I load each standard dimension of lumber that we use as a sheet.
Length - 4200mm, Width - 114mm, Thickness - 25mm
When I input my panels, I use the width of the panel as the width of the sheet. For example Length - 2156, Width - 114, Qty - 56 and select the above "sheet" as my material. I do this for all the lengths as per my drawings. Eventually grouping the panels under the quantity of crates needed.
On the 'Reports'>'Job Summary'/'Quote' it would be an added time saving feature if there could be a section displaying the quantity of cubes used under each "sheet" (excluding off cuts). We use this to estimate the weight of a crate, which we use to determine transport costs. As of now I input all the same data into Excel as I do into Maxcut for this exact reason.
Having an option under the 'Sheet Details' > 'Pricing' to change from Square meter to Cubic Meter would be a massive time saver.
