Expansions in Community Edition & Detailed Panel Dimensions
AnsweredFrom Andre Olah #14664
Hi,
I am a hobbyist and love your product. Thanks for making a base product free.
Obviously as a hobbyist material costs are of a high concern. With that I'd like to make 2 suggestions:
1. Please allow Long and short expansion on the base release or provide a much lower cost for the use of such a feature. As equipment is not as sophisticated as business almost all my initial cuts have to be more accurately refined, manually adding expansion is a must and almost eliminates the value of a cutting diagram. I would be happy to pay an added fee however a $200US ($300 CDN) cost for a tool I use 2-3 times a year simply negates any savings in time or material costs. (A hobbyist version without mass prod features such as quotes, costing etc.)
2. Could I suggest the addition of an initial cutting dimension to the optimized diagram. IE: The first cut 27-1/2" then the second cut adding first cut plus extension and blade width together to the second panel, third cut and so on. As a hobbyist I have to break down the full size sheet to something of a more manageable size to take to the table saw where actual panel sizes can then be used. Currently this is a manual process to add it all together.
Again, Thank you for providing a free version for the little guy.
