I get the error message "Settings file is corrupt"

To fix a corrupt settings file you need to go to "C:\ProgramData\MaxCut Software\MaxCut" (note that ProgramData is a hidden folder, for steps to enable windows to see hidden folders click here) and delete the settings.xml file. Then open MaxCut again and re-configure your settings, including all settings under Tools > Options.
